Biometric readers determine a person's identity by detecting and matching individual physical characteristics.  This assures that only the authorized user can access the door.  Biometric readers eliminate the risk of a credential getting lost, stolen or duplicated without authorization, making them a very secure option for access control.  Schlage specializes in the development, marketing and service of biometric devices to ensure the highest levels of security for access control.

Hand Geometry Readers Schlage's HandKey readers measure the size and shape of a user's hand, including length, width, thickness, and surface area to verify identify.  The user enters a unique ID number on the keypad, then the user simply places his hand on the platen to verify identity and gain access.  Alternatively, the user can utilize a optional card reader to input the unique ID number with a magnetic stripe, proximity, or smart card.
Enclosures & Accessories Schlage offers a variety of enclosures to protect biometric readers from elements in the environment, extreme weather, dust and debris.
Software An interface that allows for control and monitoring a network of biometric readers, including monitoring activity, monitoring alarms and adding and removing users.
